For The Men – Crocs & Colours By Akin Faminu

Runway trends so far this year have been more dramatic that they have been for quite a while, especially tilting to the classy style. Suits and Tuxedos are classics and would always feature in every fashion season, sometimes in different styles, sometimes with different fabrics, sometimes a whole new cut, but this season, the most attention has been paid to two things, Fabric and Color, with all the drama brought to the party!Dolce & Gabanna’s Spring Summer 2016 featured a lot of tuxedos made with brightly colored Sequins and Croc leather, among others, so it’s not news that the black tuxedo is forever a classic, but isn’t exactly popping this season, crocs, sequins and brightly colored suits and tuxedos are something you might just dare to try.
Tuxedo jackets are evening wears, little wonder why it makes sense using croc leather and sequins, a bit dramatic? Maybe, but they unarguably exude Class! And where’s the fun in Style if you can’t go outside your comfort zone every now and then?
Burgundy is a dark shade of red, and for such an unabashedly upfront colour, red can be deceptively difficult to wear. On the one hand, it’s bold and uncomplicated, and true reds will suit almost every skin tone. On the other side of the coin, the raw power of the hue can make potential wearers feel a little squeamish.

After all, red is the colour of passion and overt sensuality; of emotions worn literally and figuratively on the sleeve. It’s also a key colour trend for spring/summer 2016, with rich, vibrant tones threaded through many of this season’s key collections, so merging a key fabric trend and color trend this season in this outfit simply put, seemed sublime, and yes it is!

You’d have to agree with me that a Croc Skin Suit is already a big fashion statement, a Croc Skin Suit in a shade of Red is an even bigger statement. How then can you properly pull it off, because really, a fashion statement can go two ways, WOW! Or WTF! And these two depend solely on Styling.

Whether you opt for a bright cherry two-piece or subdued burgundy number, the advice remains the same: keep the accompanying pieces pared-down and muted – think a crisp white shirt/tee and simple monochrome Patent oxfords or Loafers.
Don’t go overboard with the accessories either; a solid dark tie or white silk pocket square will suffice, and you’d look just great.

So guys, are you the type to take fashion risks and make fashion statements? Can a brightly colored Croc Tux be a welcome addition to your wardrobe? Or you think it’s a trend that goes too far? Leave your comments in the section below, let’s know what you think?

Have a lovely weekend and stay blessed.
