FOR ABIKE - A Mother's Tribute by Ojerinde A.O

For Abike is a poem that centres on a lovely man who had been in love with the magical maze of  a woman; from her tender age to that of motherhood.
It is self explanatory and a tribute I can pay to any mother with the aim of making her smile. Enjoy.

Abike by O.J

It wouldn't have been the Same.

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

Had the sun not been left for the day,
To rise and set at dawn and dusk;
Had the moon not been for the night,
To wax and to wane as time flies.

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

Had the sea not been left to flow
To merge with the sky where no one sees
To flow and never to stop at twilight
To up and down its tide and waves

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

Had the bird not been left alone
To explore the sky and to see the world
To spread its wings to breach the breeze
To perch on trees and to chirp aloud

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

Had I not met you at all,
To taste your sweetness and grace
Had I not being part of your existence
As a companion on an endless journey

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

Had there been such a distance
To keep us apart pregnant with desires
Had I not been given this God's grace
To witness your prime heading peak

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

Had I not been given this eternal gift
The gift of your humility, serenity, purity
Of chastity, dignity, womanity, humanity
Had it been anything but ...you for me....

It wouldn't have been the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

The earth would sure still be spherical
The grass would sure still be green
Ceteris paribus or paribus ceteris
A world without you is incomplete
It wouldn't have been the same....

It wouldn't have bee the same,
At all, it wouldn't have been same.

For Abike (and all that embraced motherhood) on a day I remember her journey through the labour room.

Am so sorry my poem and stories didn't come here for some time now. Let's start with OJ's Poem. Remember to commend the writer. TGIF

WHY YOU NEED A LEGAL AGREEMENT WITH YOUR VENDORS ON YOUR BIG DAY

Just because I am a Makeup Artist and I have been to many weddings and see how vendors are particular about their money and don't usuall...
