Every two to three weeks there’s a “Should women cook for
their husband or not” debate on twitter. Even Noble got caught in it
recently and is trying to change the narrative. But since it’s somehow
decided not to leave our twitter calendar I decided to weigh in on the
topic from my angle.Now it sounds
preposterous that the Bible supports you not to cook for your man but
bear with me, I’ll explain using a few scriptures.
Remember the story of Mary, Martha and Jesus? The story can
be found in Luke 10: 38 – 42. You don’t have to go looking for the
Bible I know you don’t have, the story is right here:
38. As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.
39. She had a sister called Mary,who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.
40. But Martha was distracted by all the
preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord,
don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell
her to help me!”
41. “Martha, Martha,” the Lord
answered,“you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things
are needed—or indeed only one.[
a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Now Martha had chosen the path of the jollof rice warrior.
She had chosen to see to it that the meat portions are like the huge
ones Yoruba women serve not my kinsmen from the East. But the Lord had
better ideas. He taught her what was important and this is what he’d
been trying to teach since.
At this point you’re wondering how does this concern your
man, well the Lord wants you to tell your man that there are more
important things than cooking.

If he’s hard of hearing or missed a Lagos trip due to an ear infection, here’s another scripture to clear his doubts:
2. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
3. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4. Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

That’s Matthew 4: 2-4.
He shall not live by bread alone so if he’s hungry and
wants you to cook, slide a huge Amplified Bible into his hands so he
gets filled. If he’s still complaining or if he’s of the “We will not
take it” clan, ask him to read the last scripture again especially the
“fasted for forty days” part slowly. Then ask him the question, “the
Christ you want to be like (definition of Christian duhhh) did he have
two heads?”
